I myself would like some beginners info on using the rezbox method.
A rezzing system is a script designed to allow designers and builders to package builds/linksets that make a build.
This is used due to the limitiations firstly with the linking distance and secondly because of lot of houses/builds for example can consist of a number of linksets. Also, depending on what scripts are used in the build, some scripts for doors or moving objects cannot be linked and therefore must remain independent of any linkset.
Using a rezzing system is a very simple thing to set up. It requires a rezzer box to be placed normally centre of the build and each linkset/object requires a postioning script. The rezzbox records the position of each linkset/object when the script is placed in the root prim or single prims contents tab.
Then once each linkset/object has been recorded you simply take a copy of each part to inventory. From inventory you drag the objects copied and place them in the contents tab of the rezzer box centred in the build.
Then taking copy of the rezzer box into inventory will allow you to drag the box from inventory to test if all pieces/linksets etc are in their respective places and these will all come together to create your completed build.
The main advantage of using rezzer systems and there are quite a few different types is that anyone purchasing such items are able to move, place rotate them all as one object without leaving or losing bits in the process.
IMO, there is no other way with the standard building and editing tools in SL to accomplish such tasks.
Check out any of the rezzing systems, I am sure some give demonstrations but its been a long time since I looked.
Rezz Faux
Jack in the Box
Rezz Foo
Builders Buddy (this is a free open source script that can be found in the scripting library)
This is to name just a few but there are a more available.
