How do you make a passable hole in a solid object?
one example i can remember is a "bathysphere" looking vehicle with a hole in the bottom for entry.
how does that work?
what i am trying to do is make a wall with a "hemishpere" sicking out of it.
where the hemisphere connects the wall - i want avs to be able to pass through, but for the rest of the wall to be impassible.
impossible?

Try using the "hollow" tool. You'll find it on the edit menu when you click the blue "more" button. You can make any object completely passable too but checking the "Phantom" box

In case nobody has already mentioned it you may want to check out the building tutorial at the tower of primitives. /invalid_link.htmlI found it very helpful when I first started with the building tools.

Vel,
It sounds like you'll have to make the wall hollow and then make the sphere hollow *and* use the dimple cut. That will allow you to cut a hole through the sphere.
Play with the rotations and that should do the trick.

Hey. That was exactly my first question when i started friday last week. I still haven't found out how to do it correctly although I'm aware of the hollow and BE functions, they don't provide the same result at all. It annoys me alot that there isn't an exact subtract/boolean function. But if there is something that gives the same result it would nice if someone could show me ingame. It would make it easier to make better structures imho. Cheers, me.
