I wanted to let people know about my Sight-Seeing Guide in Tan (32, 77). To use it you click on one of the sims on the large map. Sights from that sim will then appear on a row of displays. Clicking on a sight gives you an enlarged view and a text blurb about it. In the future it will dispense landmarks. The emphasis is on pretty things to look at. I'm adding things to it bit by bit as I fly around sight-seeing. I'm thinking of putting one near a welcome area, because it seems like newer folks and trial users might benefit from it. Any suggestions? Here is a list of (almost) everyone whose work is featured on the Guide so far. Feel free to let me know if you'd like your blurb changed. Artemis Tesla Buck Weaver Bausch Bunderfeld Aurican Sunchaser Neil Protagonist Chip Midnight Lordfly Digeridoo Lynnix Muse Bill Linden feniks Stone Nephilaine Protagonist Kenzington Fairlight and Damiana Domino Mithryl Yamamoto Ironchef Cook Madox Kobayashi Maerl Underthorn Rathe Underthorn (? Mayan Pyramid) Stew Cook Bosozoku Kato Ethereal Birghtwillow LePoseur Skidoo Athos Murphy Mark Michelson Hiro Yamamoto Jake Cellardoor Arpie Perkins Thanks to all the above for making cool stuff

Madox - Actually you're place is a little exceptional in that I mainly added it because of the gadgets (like the elevator). Not that your place isn't nice, but you've made such cool toys. Thanks, Zana!

Damiana - I'm glad you liked it! You had the cool three-wing glass house, right? If you don't mind, please just IM me the new coords or drop me a landmark and I'll come by to get a new snapshot.
BTW, does anyone here know if Bill Linden's house in Ritch is modeled on a particular house by Frank Lloyd Wright or just in the same style? I IMed him but (quite understandably) didn't hear back.

Heh, Bill Linden is almost never online. In fact, that house has been there for as long as I can remember. Best bet is to pray he or another Linden sees this thread.

From: someone Originally posted by Cadroe Murphy BTW, does anyone here know if Bill Linden's house in Ritch is modeled on a particular house by Frank Lloyd Wright or just in the same style? I IMed him but (quite understandably) didn't hear back. It's modeled in Wrights cantilever-style, used in his most famous building - Fallingwater. I recently attempted to build something in that style too, but got distracted (as usual) by other things. In the process I gained much respect for Mr. Wright :) I can post some better links (to larger sized pix) when I'm at home.

Cadroe, saw your kiosk last night, and spent a good few minutes playing with it. Very cool job!

Very cool indeed. I found it by accident while flying by. I was amazed I was even on there.

Ezhar - Thanks for the info. I went to an exhibit of original FLW glass recently and it was very cool. Maybe I'll get to see Fallingwater in First Life some day. Ironchef - Giant Kool-aid Man was a natural And thanks for the kind words, everyone.

As promised, some links: - high-res pix
- 3D model
- it's current (not so good) state
Oh, and I too like your sight-seeing guide. It'd be even better if the sim thats currently displayed and the thumbnail thats being viewed would be slightly tinted, to show which one the building is in.

Landmarks

I wanted to let anyone interested know that the Sight-seeing Guide now dispenses landmarks for the sights featured in it.
Also, I moved it toward the center of Tan from the edge and remodeled it - it's now the thing with two floating hemispheres. It now shows which sim you're looking at, as suggested.
If you have a store you'd like to advertise, I'd suggest Water Rogers' information booths which list businesses. I'm just focusing on sight-seeing stuff with my project.
