Make prim surface follow land contour

This is probably a newbie question, but I'm VERY new to building stuff in SL.

I'd like to make a flat prim that follows the contour of the land, something I could use to add a bit of texture to some uneven land. I've messed around with the flexible path settings but haven't gotten what I'm looking for.

If you're in Build mode and you select the grass, rez it and drag it around, you can watch it follow the curves of the land. That's what I'm trying to do.

Grass and trees are special objects and bare no relation to primitives so prims wont do that, obviously.
But you can make something with sculpties which can be any shape you need.

Ah, obviously to you, not to my newbie brain. :D

Is there a way to make an object that's "floppy" so that if you put it over an uneven section of terrain, it will take on the shape of the ground below it? Kind of like throwing a sheet over a piece of furniture.

Sorry, what you are asking for is a 'Decal' or 'Overlay' which is not possible with the current set of primitives. I really have been wondering a long time why we don't have such simple detail objects.

You would need to create a sculpty to follow the same contour of the terrain you wish to place it in which unless created with a scripted object. Which otherwise is complex and not really worth the effort. What are you trying to achieve? It might be better and more effective just to create an artificial piece of terrain.
