Is this possible?

Im new to 2nd Life, and am not quite sure of the limitations of the scripting language...

Would it be possible to have a succession of still images on a surface? Like a movie screen or television, only with a still image changing every few seconds.

If this is possible, please let me know. If it has already been done, Id love to now where, so I can check it out.

Thanks!

Well, what people do instead is just make one long strip and have it scroll, like a movie real. It's been done, but I forgot exactly where and who.

Short answer is yes, it's possible. I'm sorry I don't see more of it, since it's so cool. I suppose I can do it, but... I'm rather lazy.

Yes of course its possible, you can do either slideshows or even real high-framerate video, the only problem is that it costs an assload of linden bucks to upload textures and its a pain to put them in the right format.

Yeah you can do that. And despite what they say it only costs $10 lindens to upload a texture, and if you use the texture animation function you only need one texture.

You make a single texture which contains all the frames in a uniform size, and only show the part of the texture which is the current frame. That's how animation in SL works.

Hey thanks!

I was thinking of a movie theater like experience with still frame shots from the video.
