I do not know if this is the correct place for this, but I could not figure out where to put this exactly.

Is there anyone out there that holds classes on making sculpties? I have tried several programs, and I just cannot seem to get my head around the basics. I just need someone to help me wrap my brain around it!

Willing to pay if needed. (hopefully not too crazily though).

Anyone out there can help? Hehe..

Thank you!

Sculpties are not an easy thing to teach in a virtual classroom, because they're generally made entirely outside of Second Life, and 3d applications aren't the easiest to explain with just words. There are a few basic classes around, I believe, but they probably won't help you nearly as much as existing tutorials would, aside from the ability to ask questions (Which you can also use these forums for, always!)

There are plenty of tutorials for most programs capable of creating sculpties, from text to picture to video style. I'm sure one of these would help you, at the least.

(Shameless plug) I do video tutorials for Sculpties using Blender(Link in siggy), and Gaia Clary has some here, as well:

DanielFox Abernathy has some floating around for the use of Wings3D, just search the forums for that, and...well..beyond that I don't really know the location of many tutes, but some resources are listed by individual program here:

Good luck, and have fun!

I sometimes give individual help for blender. It turns out to be quite time consuming inside SL. But well, it works somehow when screen shots and exchange of .blend files via email are used ...

Another way to go is with remote access. In principle we could setup a secure meeting and then share our desktops. But such an approach will need a bit of bandwidth and what i have seen so far, it gets quite lagy when many persons are sharing one session. With only 2 at a time (one teacher, one student) it might work reasonably well. But offering such a course would be quite expensive in time, so i guess teachers wouldn't want to do that frequently ... For that reason we have created video tutorials instead of offering teaching courses...

But as i said, sometimes i do that on an individual base and i am happy with getting a reasonable donation. (Although donations typically are in the range of 100-300 Lindens for one hour of work, so i have to give 10-20 hours of blender courses to pay for one hour of my cleaning woman in RL... That scares me a bit lol)
