2ndLook.org Needs Your Pictures

I have set up a website - http://www.2ndlook.org - to show off pictures of SL. If you have some cool pictures that you would like to share, I'd be thrilled to display them on the site.

It's a pretty easy setup. Visitors can upload pictures to the existing albums. (I have to approve those before they show up). Or you can register an account, and upload and have your pictures displayed without waiting for approval. Also registered users can setup their own albums.

Pictures should be in jpg format. 800 pixels maximum width or height. Maximum size is 100KB.

There's a few pictures there now, but there's room for hundreds! I'd love to have your help filling it with images from SL that show what a fabulous world we have to play with.

And mature content is welcome too

Going through my old snapshots, I realized there are some pretty big events that i'm sure lots of people took photos for.

So if anyone has pictures of events like Burning Life, The Book Club events, The Jessie Wall, The Trek Across SL, weddings, club openings, etc, either register and upload them yourself, or drop them on me in-world. (if you drop them on me, give me permissions so I can save the texture to disk)

I approved the picture so it should show up now. I'm not sure why it didn't automatically post. When you have time, login and try again and let me know what happens. It may have to do with cookies or something like that.

Ooohh, I'd love to get those event pictures...Drop 'em on me!

Hmmm, maybe I need to arrange a prize

This is a great site, Bel, thanks for making this available to us all as a place where we can post our pictures.

I uploaded a few pics today and had a couple of questions:

1. If I upload a picture to a specific area (say, Avatar - Faces) and decide later it would go better in another category, can I change it?

2. I see that I have control over deleting pictures I post to my own album(s), but don't seem to be able to delete pictures that I post to one of the general categories. Is this the case?

This site is an excellent way to show off the neat stuff we can do in SL!

Unfortunately, if you want to change categories after upload, an admin has to do it. So if something got miscategorized just let me know. An easy way to do that is to write a comment to the picture you want changed. I'll read all the comments, and I'll be sure to see it.

Yeah, i think the general categories are under admin control, so if there's something you would prefer to have deleted, just let me know.

If anyone ever advises they have added a link and it isnt showing lemme know..it is moderated so I need to click a button and approve each link.

And yeah have a prize for top rated pic or something...page is booming ahead..

mine has broken links now..worked on it late at night...have to fix late tonight....I might try copperthingy too stop the manual processes.

Thanks for setting up the link list..its VERY easy to use. Hopefully many others will add their links too.

Think about putting the source code on a page on your website so people can just grab it and go.

So mad.. had all these cool screenshots with months and months of SL history, and it's lost forever to the beasty that is hard drive death. This site makes me feel better about that. Thanks Bel and everyone posting, woo!
