Are you worried you can't store as much as you'd like in SL, due to the limits of the list data structure?

I have created a dynamic storage solution in SL that can store up to 2,500 records. This is the smallest estimate. I think it can do 5,000 myself, but it will definately hold 2,500 records.

If you need this for your project IM me in world (Jsecure Hanks) and I'll either come install it for you or I'll get an email from you.

This system will cost $2,500 per data warehousing unit.

Splendid. Not that I need one, but I think it's great someone is selling these.

Ok, I volunteer for the rest of us to ask: "What is this"?

What are you talking about here?

Like receipts and stuff?

This isn't anything specifically. It's a memory module that provides you with a 2,500 entry list data structure. Most scripters have made something that uses lists. Well now they can buy one of these, mod their script to use it (the data module can use the channel of the client's choice) and sell their product for a LOT more based on the fact it stores a lot more.

What are some ideas for what data you might like to store? You tell me :)

Can you give me an example?

Is there any way to have this take my "account history/sales" data and store that?

Or would i be able to take 140+ member names and be able to have IM's go to all them and have each be able to respond back to me? And save the IM's till they log back on?

People, this is a data unit. If I tell you I have invented a hard drive, don't ask me how many versions of MS Word files you can put on it, I reply you can store binary data on it, it's as simple as that.

This unit has two commands:

store (data)
read

by using these commands on different channels or with linked messages, you can store up to 2,500 records.

This thing won't magically fetch data from your actual account history (eg. sales data), nor will it co-ordinate hundreds of conversations over IM. It is data storage, and it has never been more or less than that.

If you want to store more than 100 records, I can store 2,500 for you. The rest is up to you.

Uhm.. Ok.. for you it is simple.. For me, it is complex and what you said is far from 'plain english' for the layfolk. I was curious as to whether or not I needed to spend $2500 on something but first needed to know if I could suit my concept of use.

Since you did not say "yes" to my question, but something about magical this, that or the other... I will infer that to mean no.

Good luck with your data 'doohickey gadget of i don't know wuztit do but it don't do it for me'. :p

Briana, I think you misunderstand.

You are asking me about a load of projects, and can my data storage unit be used to do these projects.

I'm not sure the best way to try and put this in 'laymen's terms', except to say again:

The unit has two commands:

write (data)
read

that should answer any questions about what it can do for you. Please try and visualise: this is a unit... that stores data. Like a list data item. It stores 2,500 units of data. That's what it does. So can it help you? Well, do you need to store data?
