I have an idea for snowboarding, since the new vehicle codes work great, I've already constructed a basic snowboarding script with some tricks :)

So I'm trying to get linden support for a whole sim with the ground texture being snowy :) if you think you'd like to help with this or think this is a good idea, please post!

thanks!

That sounds really fun, Nick. Maybe not a whole sim, but at least a big plot of land would be really nice to have for snowboarding! Good thinking.:)

Nick raises a very good suggestion... the various sims, while they have assorted "terrain" per se in terms of height, water features, etc... are all sort of just "blah" land.

Where are the deserts of shifting sand, for Arabian Nights themes? The rolling hills covered with dense forests for woodland folks? The rugged mountains covered with snow?

I think there is room for sims that have a themed terrain... check out Elysian Island and notice how well that works... although a more interesting ocean would be an improvement there.

i like this idea. it would be cool to have a few sims (4 maybe?) that could be used as a 'winterland' area. create some large mountains for skiing/boarding/sledding and some flat areas for snowmobiling. the lindens could also raffle off some parcels where people could build apartments or homes.. land editing would have to be controlled somehow so the mountains are retained.

I think a mountain themed sim with land editing disabled like in linden world is a very good idea since a lot of people simply love having a mountain in their backyard, and also to accomodate this snowboarding project.

yes. maybe the lindens could set it up so that there are small parcels that have little cabins on them that you could rent on a weekly basis? oh yes, and they *must* have hottubs! ;)

hmm.. and maybe a frozen pond for ice skating??

Why not put some snowy areas in the the new vehicle sims? They have mountains.

Pshaw. Those are hills. A real mountain is too big to walk up on foot :)

That's a great idea, while we're on the topic I was thinkin of having a desert type sim, so I can make an Area 51 type area :)

It wouldnt be all flat it would need to have smooth hills of sand and an unusually bright sun with watering holes and tropical trees every so many miles. 8D
