I am starting a Museum of Second Life, which will contain many exibits about the wonderful builds in found in Second Life, the first users of Second Life, and the little company that started it all. Many other pieces of our world's history will be available, such as how each simulator got its name and much much more.

If anyone is interested in helping me, donating money, or donating things to be put on display, please reply here or contact me in world. Thanks.

Did this idea die, or am I just really bad at finding things? I know you've got a lot of things going on James...

heh, this idea basically has been put on the back burner. I always have a lot of things on my plate, and this one seemed to fall off. Maybe I will do this project in time for the Commercial Release of SL?

James - this is a great idea. I read on a later posting that you gave up on it but was just wondering if given enough collaborators you migth be willing to pick it up again...

Maybe, Ana...I recently tried again, but, my neighbors didn't care for the large building suddenly next door, so, I took it down.

We can talk in-world about this, if you like. :)

James,

I've inherited the Bhodi Tree Gallery from Bhodi Silverman in Ritch, and I'm building a large annex to go with it in that sim. Well...building, unbuilding and rebuilding. I hope to have the main buildings done by next week, but something in the back of my mind wants to make an Ivory Tower Reading Library.

What you're writing about here sounds like a museum of SL "Natural History," which I think is a brilliant idea. Most of what I'm going for is in the way of art and education concerning building, texturing, scripting and how these three diciplines can be used to produce art...or Virtual Art for that matter. Either way, art is very elusive, be it tangible or intangible.

To make pieces that reflect the world they live in, artists need to know about that world. Perhaps we might be able to put something together on this, let's talk!
