ok not sure what i have done if anything.....but any ideas would be greatly appreciated. i can no longer modify the pieces of my home. i can position, rotate & change textures, but i can no longer use the functions for shifting vertically & horizontally. i am trying to change the positioning & size of the grids of my glass block in my windows & that whole series of boxes is completely unavailable to me. and actually, the whole appearance & layout of the edit window seems to have changed as well.

yea lock is on.....i had to, my roommate kept moving the house. however, even when the box is unchecked i still can't access any of the functions in the lower half of the edit window

Are the textures you used no mod? That might be the problem.

that's a thought.....i have no idea. i'll check that when i get home & let you know

ok....my textures are modifiable so that's not the prob. i can edit & modify all the objects in my home.......but the house itself is off limits to me for some reason.

You should probably check the ownership of the unmodifyable elements. Objects have been known to change owner through bugs or user mistakes (e.g. setting your house for sale as an original for L$0 which leaves it in place but it isn't yours anymore).

ok my house as a whole shows who it was created by & that i am the owner. the individual pieces of the house however have no such tags......they weren't created or are currently owned by anyone. is this what my problem is? i have no idea if this has changed or is normal.

That sounds like what happens when the pieces are ghosted, like they do when you delete them but they don't actually vanish. Not quite sure why that should be the case, especially long term. The whole point of creator tags is that they stay with a piece. There is an occasional (ok, not so occasional) bug where things can revert to 'nobody' as creator, but that doesnt sound like your problem. But it is definitely not normal!

The only thing I can think of to try is to take your house into your inventory and then put it back out. It *might* help.

You wouldn't happen to be using 'Select Individual' mode on one of the prims of the house, trying to move it, while it's linked to the rest of the house, are you? That's just not going to work.

i am using select individual to try & change & shift textures....not physically move anything.

as far as i know, i haven't changed or done anything. i repostitioned & changed the textures on the windows outside & then went in & did my inside ones.......got to the last window & it just stopped working.
