I downloaded Sculptypaint the other day. Everytime I go to open it, it opens up two screens. Neither of them work and I can't click anything. I have the latest version of java but still no cigar. Does anybody have any suggestions.

Does anybody have any suggestions. the program is notorious for being slow when loaded up. that and having two of them open doesn't help things. they really need to fix the program and make it more smooth.

Um, there is no "they" behind sculptypaint. There is one person who made the program, Cel Edman and he is providing the program, download and updates completely free. I have never had a problem with the program uploading, either with my old computer or my new one. Perhaps you have 2 versions of sculptypaint installed by accident ? Perhaps drop a notecard ingame to Cel Edman and I am sure he will get back to you with suggestions.

Ive had a constant problem with Sculpty Paint. I have the latest version. When I click on 'Load Sculpt Image PNG' , the load file window keeps refreshing every 2-3 seconds so it makes it hard to find the desired file and by the time your close, the window has refreshed and back to the default directory. I tried moving my sculpt maps to the default directory 'My Documents' as suggested by Cel but problem is still there. I've updated Java, moved SP to C: drive etc but to no avail. I dare say it works fine for the majority of people but I've never been able to have a proper play with it.

I'm having this exact same problem. When I double click the sculpty paint icon, It opens a window with sculpty paint in it and another sculpty paint without the window encircling it. I am able to manipulate the program through the one that is in a window but I can't se anything I'm doing because of the one that is on top without the window. This one I can't do anything with.
So frustrating! I've just started learning this program and for me that's exciting. I've tried installing it to my c: programs drive - same result.

My Sculptypaint is installed on my D: drive (which is not the same drive as my Vista). I have absolutely no problems with it..........well, except that I don't know crap about 3D drawing. LOL

Ok here's what I've found out. One of two things....
Either I cannot run sculpty paint when second life is open, or it is the fact that I close a lot of background task before starting up second life, and I've inadvertantly closed something that sculpty paint needs to run properly. Perhaps it's java? LOL
If I completely shut down my pc and restart without closing any background task or running second life, sculpty paint works like a charm. Ok so now I'm totally addicted. There's entirely too much fun to be had with this program and of all the free programs that I've downloaded and toyed with, this one has the easiest interface for me.
To the OP, are you closing background task to run SL? Try it without closing any of your startups, don't run Second Life and see if that works for you.

My sculptypaint has suddenly turned fuzzy. I cannot read the buttons in the user interface. (Vista) Has anyone else seen this?
A new download did not help.
