I am doing a group project for class which is to build on the property given to us and make a business from that property. We chose to do an art and furniture store, but are unable to put the amount of furniture on the property we need because we keep on getting an error saying that the parcels are full and we cannot add anymore. We only have a few pieces of furniture on this land, and we cant make a store out of that little amount. How can we add more furniture to this land without being limited by the amount of parcels. Is there anyway to go about this? Please help because we are on a time restriction. Thanks all.

Management of prim count is something you need to spend some time on. In your About Land section it tells you how many prims the parcel supports. You have to stay within that limit or buy more land in the same sim to increase your prim count. You can certainly create a store from very few prims - try doing an open air store on just a deck to save prims. Also, make sure your furniture is low prim if you have only a few prims to work with. Furniture can range from only a couple of prims to dozens of prims depending on the creator. Make sure you know how many prims are in your furniture and only rez the ones with low prim counts.

Keeping within prim counts is an art for all itself.

Also, consider displaying pictures of some items instead of the items themselves. You can put a sofa in a single prim box, slap a photo on it, and set it out for sale, thus saving a whale of prims. It isn't as nice as putting ALL your furniture out there, but if you take nice, detailed advertizing photos it can work very well.

How would one go about making those boxes for sale?

The same way you make anything for sale (unless you are using a commercial vendor panel like HippoVend, which is also a possibility worth considering). The box is like any other object, only in this case it is an object that you are using as a container. You drag the objects for sale from your Inventory into the Contents of the box, along with any friendly notecards, LMs or other nice things you want the purchaser to have. Then....

1. Open the General tab in Edit
2. Click the "For Sale" radio button
3. Type a price in the text box next to the radio button
4. Indicate whether you are selling the object (the box), a copy of the object, or the contents of the object -- in this case, it's the contents.
5. Indicate which permissions you want the next owner to have
6. Use the pull-down menu to indicate that you want the "BUY" option to appear when someone touches the box.

As I suggested before, you'll want to put a nice advertizing photo on the outside of the box so people know what's inside.
