Has anyone else had this happen? I finished an island build for a client last week, and transferred all objects to the client's avatar, all with full perms. But all of a sudden today, all perms are restricted. Everything has become no mod, no copy, no transfer.

I know for a fact that last week, everything was fine. I had to log in with the client's avatar the day after the transfer, to make a few changes, and I was able to do that with no problem. That avatar had full perms on everything at that time.

So sometime between then and now, something got borked. I spoke with Concierge, and their best guess was it might be a bug in the server code they rolled out over the past few days. If so, they'd better fix it fast, because it's a definite showstopper.

I searched JIRA, and I didn't find any previous reports of anything quite like this. Before I go ahead and add it as a new issue, I'm curious if it's happened to anyone else here. Anyone?

I had a little trouble with permissions yesterday morning when I made a couple of items, deeded them to my own parcel, edited them a bit, and decided to copy the edited items back to myself. When I found that I didn't have all the permissions I thought I had given myself, I figured I must have just forgotten to tick all the right boxes at some step. That probably IS what happened, but I'm usually careful about such things. Maybe the same thing you encountered....?

totally, me too, the buzz is that the client in production had an exploit, and was partially launched, I think it may have even been that server code they just updated. Anyway accodring to the forums it has been shelved for the time being, it's a pain, I had a bunch of really specific things that got corrupted too

I just looked in the grid status page, i swear there was a lil something about it somewhere, but there is sooo much on that page now, been a rocky week

Thanks for the responses guys.

This is getting weirder and weirder. Almost all objects on the sim in question have corrected themselves now to be full perms again. There is still a small handful that shows up as fully restricted.

I don't know whether to be relieved that things are straightening out, or even more frightened that it's all possibly in a state of flux.

A couple weeks ago I noticed an object that I created that should have copy-only permissions for the next owner had become full-perm. I'm just glad it wasn't yet for sale.

I am so glad to see this. As this has been happening to me as well. It has been happening to be off and on for 3 months now. It does cause issues that make things even more difficult.

Theres instances of this happening as far back as 2006 probably earlier but i wouldnt know. I have heard a lot more in the last few weeks though ...worrying bug to say the least.

I have been chasing down perms for items I made in the last 2 weeks - hunting Sales History and sending replacements for stuff that lost perms upon taking them back in my inventory

blahh fun

Yeesh... What wonderful timing. Just as I am about to turn a full sim build over to a client. I think I'll ask him to wait on the asset transfers for a while longer. It will work just fine meanwhile with me as the owner of all those prims and scripts...

This, and related perms issues, have been happening very occasionally to me for about 3 weeks. I have seen it happen most frequently with full perms items suddenly becoming restricted, including ones that I created. It happened twice with single-prim nonscripted objects textured with a full perms freebie texture (just building a road). At that point I gave up.

Two posts in RA this morning concerning the same problem. Both posts stating that they were solely owner created objects with owner created textures etc.
