I ran across this website that specifically advertises its software package -a sculpty maker - for SL. Here is the link:http://www.archipelis.com/index.php

Anyone have any experience with this?

Can a sculpty maker comment about this?

Thanks in advance!

It seems to have a fairly simplistic sculpt generation model. If you build an object using multiple shapes, it will create a separate prim for each shape.

There was a brief discussion of Archipelis a bit ago:

Basically, it's really, really easy to use (works a bit like Plopp SL), and not bad for organic, round shapes (the rhino they use as a tutorial is a good example of what you can do with it). It isn't very useful for mechanical or complex shapes.

Personally, I had a lot of fun with it before I moved onto more powerful programs.

I use it and it works good. it will hit the mark about 60% of the time. However, its for photorealistic items as it will distort the texture to make it fit. It does well with multiples to. You will need to buy the exporter.

I bought it but I am a little dissapointed. The "system" to design the sculptie is great but the result in SL isn's as good as you see it on the software. The main problem is texture management. The exported texture looses Is distorted at the point it's unrecognizable some times. The bad thing is that its something dificult to see by watching the raw texture but it's only evident once you uploaded it to SL expending 10L$.

I think I will be one of the best once they solve this texture problem.

I tried the evaluation, and it didnt seem as easy as advertised. Support and tutorials did nothing to help either.
