I'm interested in obtaining a 1/16 sim area to build a palace complex.
I'm quiet, I don't play music, I don't script, I don't shoot rockets off my head, and I shower every day. I'm a reasonably decent designer and constructionist.
My build would have little detail visible from an outside perspective. The land plot would have a thin moat going all round it, and then 10m walls. The only other thing that would likely be viewable from ground level or slightly above would be the roof area of the main palace.
I'm interested in a 'quiet' sim where there will be guidelines as well as sufficient technical expertise and planning to contain sim lag.
If a themed sim opens to off-theme builds such as this, or if any 'no theme' sims are in planning, please let me know.
Thanks, Candie

A castle would seemingly fit in with the Darkwood theme. And I believe there is still room left for members.
However this would lead to the case of multi-group membership, as to get land you'd need to be a member of Darkwood and I believe you are already leading the proposed amusement park/playground community?
It's an option... not an easily workable one, but an option...

This isn't a castle - sorry I didn't make it clearer. It's a palace in the old turkish style. The kind with minarets topped with a big sphere coming to a point at the top. Orientalist romance - think Arabian Nights, Rubaiyat, Sinbad.
Ama and I did have a brief discussion last night about the possibility of me and a few other people taking a 1/4 sim since it's still a fantasy theme although not a castle. We'll be talking more.
If it's a 1/4 sim, then in addition to the palace complex I'll be building, a few other people could join to build such things a market places (tent-top stalls selling exotic spices, embroidered silks, sandals, meats, fruits), residential housing (village housing up to small palace), desert oasis with large colorful arabian tents, camels, etc. Contact me if you're interested.
The amusement park group has disbanded. There were only 6 people, and selection for a sim is based solely on number of people.
Thanks, Candie

My bad, for some reason I saw palace and thought 'castle'. Don't know why after re-reading your post.
Still, your palace complex makes me think of the Crusades and Medieval era and whatnot, and I guess I am just envisioning Darkwood evolving into something along the lines of fantasy/medieval.
Sorry to hear about the amusement park community. So many good themes, so few people to go around. :-/
