Help... I'm going insane here...
I'm using Windows XP and I started with a fresh install of Python 2.5.4 and the latest version of Blender 2.49.
Using Git I downloaded the most recent version of Primstar (Domino Marama's scripts). I copied the primstar directory to the .\.blender\scripts directory (which is the correct path for my install).
My problem is only half the menus seem to be installed.
I've tried to reinstall blender, tried Blender 2.46 but still the Render menu addition 'Bake Second Life Sculpties' will not install. Even after doing Update Menu.
Also, with the Primstar directory installed in the ..\scripts directory the 'Save Render Layers...' menu item vanished as well as the 'System information' item (these are the ones I've noticed).
The Import options are there and the Finalise and Bake Sculpty LOD are there.
I've tried this on my laptop too and ended up with the same results, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Azazeal;
1.) When blender starts up, does it tell you on the console:
Compiled with Python version 2.5.4. Checking for installed Python... got it!
Or do you see something else there ?
2.) Did you make sure that you have dropped the correct "primstar" folder to your scripts folder ? You should see the folder "primstar" in your scripts directory and inside the primstar folder you should see
twelve *.py files one "library" folder containing ~8 *.png files distributed over a bunch of subdirectories.
3.) Before you start blender go to the scripts-folder/primstar and there locate any *.pyc file and remove them. Then start/restart blender and see, if the functions get back.

This happened to me too. I didn't find out why but they just came back. Try setting the user Python path to a different folder then back again, it might refresh things.

Hi Gaia and Domino, Thank you for the responses. Blender and my system are configured to find Python so I get the "Checking for installed Python... got it!" message and it's definately the correct Primstar folder. I checked and had one sculpty.pyc file. I deleted it but things didn't improve. Still, when ever I add the Primstar folder only half the menus load and some others that were there disappear. I had some luck however, I downloaded the versions from http://www.machinimatrix.org/svn/sl/distrib/primstar-git.zip and added the files into the root of the scripts folder and things seem to be working.

outsch... this is an outdated version of the git scripts. it was intended to send my initial work on the GUI to Domino. However it was a very bad idea from me to not remove it from the public distribution directory Azezaal, please in order to not mix up everything, either use the RC-scripts or wait until this weird problem is solved... BTW: You could intermittently use the binary Jass-release (blender-2.49 based on python 2.6 preinstalled RC-scripts, new GUI), which works out of the box after installation and it definitely was reported to work for others. You might want to install python-2.6 (although i think, this is not needed to run the scripts)... I hope that helps a bit ?

Helped more than a bit Thanks so much Gaia, I actually got to do some sculpting tonight instead of wrestling with software I'm actually moving to blender from zBrush. I love zBrush for organic shapes but I really needed a better tool for sharp edges, texturing and more precise sculpting. Thank you Domino and Gaia for all the fantastic work you both do.
