Hi all, I'm working on building a home (in a nice Japanese Style) During the planning stage... I started concidering how many prims I'd have to use to build.... While concerning this I noticed a flaw in my reasoning... there is a size limit to a single prim of 10 meters X, Y & Z.
so now I've had to dupe & link prims together just for my floorspace. is ther no way to get around this? when it comes to the building of my home I'd like to keep the number of prims down to an absolute minimum. (Ah forever a minimalist)
Any tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated!

The problem with prims larger than 10m is that, as prims get larger, they start behaving badly on sim borders. Since the overlap between sims is 10m, that's the size limit on prims.

I'm in the same boat, Zingo. Hopefully my questions are along the same lines. If need be, I'll post elsewhere.
I was just awarded a 512 sqm plot through the landless program.
I bought a couple of the GNU low-prim houses, and constructed each (but only one on the lot at a time). Each house is under 40 prims. I also found the prim calculator script on the script library forum, and see that I have 117 total prims.
Here's the problem. I currently have used approx 70 prims, leaving about 47 free. However, when I drop small objects like lamps onto the plot, they are automatically returned to inventory after a few minutes. The one lamp is 9 prims, so I'm at a loss.
So, is there a way to a) buy more prim allotments for a lot, and b) is there a script out there that can automatically tally prim usage without having to edit/view each object?
Thanks - Probably dumb newbie questions but I appreciate any help.

a) You have to get more land in the same sim. Sorry. The number of prims you're alloted in a sim is based on the number of m^2 of land you own in that sim.
b) If you right-click on your land and select "About" from the pie menu, then click on the objects tab, it will tell you how many prims you're using in the sim, and how many you're allowed.

Lamps - make a simple globe, set it as light, and give it a texture you like - light for one prim.
