What is the best way to find a builder for a home?
I seem to be having terrible luck finding someone willing and able.

What is the best way to find a builder for a home? I seem to be having terrible luck finding someone willing and able. I would highly recommend Foolish Frost, if he's available. He built my home and did a wonderful, timely job and took my likes and wants into consideration. Good luck. **** __________ A proud member of PIC = Pudding Inner Core __________________ _____________________

You could do a Find for prefabs, ask a friend to build you something, go through the Products pages on the forum (Homes & Gardens, of course), ask people here, or even go look around for a house you like.
Check the house for the creator and ask them if they'll do it. 'course, you also need to decide how many prims you want to use and how much you want to spend. |

I highly recommend Almitra Blair. She's great, does her own custom textures, is quick, and creates beautiful work. She's very reasonable with prices and has a lot of custom building experience. She works hard to give you exactly what you want.
Here are coordinates to her house...check it out and if you like it send her an IM. Jenner 70,55 Good luck |

I would also reccomend to search the forums for previous posts about builders that are looking for work. You can find names of builders that way and then contact them in-world to see if they are available.
You might want to also post a request that you are in need of a builder in the 'Employments Ops and Help Wanted' section of the forums. I do know that Kavai Onizuka is a very talented builder and I believe that he is available. Hope that helped! -Galena |

There are some great builders around and they all have their own individual styles and ways to make your house look unique. Some people are great at doing large builds in a short time, others are great at doing smaller but higher detailed builds, and some people are in the middle somewhere. There are those of us who also build with prim count in mind, so you don't get a extremely high detail house but you save of prims.
So like the last poster asked: What are your requirements? Do you have a large block of land? or a small block of land? Do you want it to fill your entire block? or do you just want something small to live in that looks nice but will leave you enough land and prims to landscape the rest of your land yourself? Do you want something modern? Something gothic? rustic? european? asian? With a better idea of your requirements, may be we can point you toward a builder that is a good match for you. Prefabs are great, I make a few myself but they're only good if they meet your requirements. Oh yes.. another requirement is price range... I build at around 10L per prim for custom houses, while I have seen others who charge up to 45L per prim for large prefabs.. not even custom work, and lots of seams that are easily seen.. not what I would pay 45,000L for a 1,000 prim house, that's for sure. |
