Hi, I need to add 'poof' to a script I'm doing. I have the texture I need, but can anyone point me to a good example of how to set up the particles? I've done bling but that's all so far, and it would help to have a pointer to good practices for a poof, esp one that doesn't bog the servers too much.
I'll probably post it as an example (if appropriate), since I couldn't find one.
Thanks! Jeff

The Particle Laboratory might help you tune your bling script into more of a 'poof' effect.

shameless plugs are perfect when they answer the question! Plus I hear the PL is fun even for folks who don't script. Also, I got a bit of help ingame from a friend. Cheers Jeff

Plug away Jopsy. I'd like to formally thank everyone involved in it for all their hard work. I found it to be incredibly useful in getting a basic understanding of how particle systems work.

I completely agree with Newgate. I love the PL and send newbies there on a regular basis. Jopsy, thank you so much for this valuable contribution to SL.

=) Thanks Sindy & Newgate! =) The lab is getting a bit of a face lift at the moment... I'm adding document textures to break up the monotony of clicking (and often waiting) for notecard, providing more examples and visible scripts and such.
