Hi Community!

I seem to have a blond moment maybe someone can help Me out here.

Problem:
-A hud
-hud contains Object
-Object is to be attached to the avatar.

Hud rezzes a copy of object in-world. (llRezObject or llRezAtRoot)
Object now rezzed requests/receives attach permission (llRequestPermissions)
Object attaches to avatar. (llAttachToAvatar)

(when object detaches, it will be in avatar's inventory, in the Objects folder.)

Hate to bring up old stuff, but I've seen some attached objects that can attach other objects seemingly without rezzing them and without asking permissions, anyone know how this is done and if it can be done with an HUD as well?

Linking to attached objects

the HUD rezzes an object, links the object to itself as a child prim, and then the new object has attach permissions from the HUD... I haven't tried this myself, but it seems to make sense to me.

The only method for this I've confirmed to work is the "Lulu loophole". Rez the object once, and have it request attach permission. Then have it attach, and have the user detach it and put the copy back into the HUD object. From that point on, whenever it rezzes, it rezzes with attach permission already.

funny you mention, it's some Cuffs from Lulu a friend has that I saw doing this, and that sounds sensible, not nearly as complicated as I was fearing, and works ina way that LL probably won't try to stop since I doubt it could really be used to exploit as any script only method of passing perms, thanks alot mate, you've save me a hell of a headache!

don't suppose anyone knows much on this method, I haven't had time to fully experiment but I'm not sure quite how to pull this, though I suppose with time and experimentation shouldn't be too hard

Yumi is describing the actual step by step procedure to do it.

By doing this, you are "pre-setting" the permissions for when it is rezzed thereafter.

K i did a basic dry run of that, but I probably need to tweak the scripts I had to get it to run right
