Vendor trench coat

I am looking for a vendor trench coat. It would be sculpted alot and be able to open revealing items for sale. If there is anything like this could someone let me know. If there is a similar post on this subject else where I am sorry for repeat posting but I cannot find such an item anywhere.

if you mean one you would wear, it won't be possible cause you can't pay an attachment, it just goes directly to the avatar wearing it, and the script doesn't know anything about it

but the immagery of this is so funny, I'm going to HAVE to look into a way around this (and I think I already have it)

Use a rezzer?

Open coat, rez vendors. Close coat, vendors de-rez.

This is the first thing that popped into my head..lol it is a pretty good image

why rez a whole vendor when all you need is a prim (add some follower code, correct for rotations and poof, you're off)

It is possible as i have one that rezzes clothes on hangars from a walking wardrobe that rezzes from a jacket i made as a custom. uses a rezzer and de rezzer from the coat.

You could just rez the "vendor" prim temporarily while in the "coat open" pose. Then follower logic is probably unnecessary (in fact, cage the owning avatar with it while posing).

Problem with temp rezzers following the trenchcoat-wearer is that you can be 30 degrees off in your facing on the screen.

So? The rezzed object would just be to accept payments and communicate to the coat. No need to try to make it look good. Make it transparent.

That's OK if you're buying a trenchcoat, but what if you're buying one of N rolexes?

Ah. I see. Well, you could choose an item by touching it, have that displayed (say in the seller's hand, or pulled out a bit from the coat). Once the buyer verifies that is the one they want to buy (maybe by clicking on it again after it's displayed), you could rez the "vendor" object for payment.

Of course, the coat could also just be for displaying wares. The biggest benefit of a vendor is that it can sell things when the owner isn't there. Since the coat will presumably be worn by the guy saying, "Hey, you want to buy a watch?" the seller can always verify the amount paid and hand the person a watch (or tell his attachment to).

I am happy there is a healthy stirr on this particular subject. Maybe my trench coat could be a possibility? N would be about 10 items pictures you pay.

So you have the coat on, true it does not need to look good in general but for the sake of it, the coat looks great in leather with straps to tie it shut and some buttons, you know a very buyable plain coat. fashionable.

Issue with height. For short people where the coat would have less area to cover for products, once opened it could give a stepping back =effect making the bottom of the coat seem as though its rolling out to cover the floor.

It would be cool if when the coat opens it dims the light of the immediate area to give a shady transaction feel. Maybe some Owl hooting sound and wing flapping.

The coat would open completely flasher style revealing items for sale. The quality of the coat inside would be high aswell. The items would be billboard style. Like the pictures you click to buy an item, and pay. You recieve it this way instantly as though you were at a store and the merchant recieves it aswell.

And finally this coat does not really have to be specific to the bearer as far as selling items, the bearer could rent space to sellers whom wish to use it. Does not have to be automatic it could be a combo of automatic rent were linden is automatically taken daily weekly monthly or it could be o rent and at the discretion of the bearer and seller.

That is the more fullfilled vision I have about this. And yes it would be kick ass.

Well, the coat's less of a problem for you. The quality of it's style would be up to you and the textures you use and how good you are at making prim clothing. Attaching to the spine and editing for size around the wearer shouldn't be much of a problem either. As far as a rezzer, though, I dunno guys..what about multi-faced prim inner lining and detecting the touched face to vend specific objects? I've never done this in particular so not sure how involved it is..

That works too, if you're happy with the blue dialog.

Wow so its possible, travelling vendor in a trench coat. Many say its no possible. Lol.

possible, yes, pretty... no. it takes some hacks or some very specific behavior to pull it off right.
