First, I think the Script Library in the forums, and the examples and script library in the LSL wiki are great. They provide the opportunity to announce, discuss, and refine the scripts. However, anyone who wants to use the scripts must copy them into SL, following assembly instructions. And there are many more scripts already in SL that people have not taken the time to post in the forum or wiki. I propose that we (whoever wants to help) develop a Second Life Script Library (SLSL) that lives within the game. I volunteer to set it up, and maintain it for as long as it takes to get others involved in its long-term maintenance. I will set up a group for that purpose. The library should consist of not just boxes with miscellaneous scripts (valuable as they are as raw resources) but actual examples of their use. More than just a static library, it should be a learning resource, with interactive tutorials provided on everything from basics to advanced concepts. Vendors could be provided to organize the many resources. (If we could build a wiki and forums in SL, I would push for that too.) If anyone else is doing a similar project, I don't mean to step on your toes. I have looked around and only found minimal efforts toward the goals I have in mind. I would be happy to cooperate with other related projects. Please contact me. By the way, I am a beginner at LSL scripting, but I expect this project will change that. Teaching is one of the best ways to learn. Sounds like I am going ahead with this no matter what.

The library you mention seems to be missing. I hear that the University of Second Life had a pretty good thing going, with classes and a large library. But it is no more, although many of the people involved are problem still active. I am thankful to have received a couple dozen folders full of scripts from SuezanneC. I found a couple attractive library buildings that look like promising attempts to add literary content to SL. These might be good places to host a script library too, but they seem much more like quiet reading rooms than the chaos you find in the sandboxes, where scripts are tried out. So I guess idealy, the script library should have an adjacent sandbox as well. Maybe all libraries should. One other related project is InfoNet. Judging from the descriptions of the project, there is a large library of scripts, but the servers have been down so I can't tell.

I still wouldn't mind Wiki Access on a prim. They seem to want to do Web-on-a-Prim, so this might be a little redundant.
