Hello I wanted to suggest a thing:
SL world is vaste and diverse in many forms , few designers of structures and sims have risen above the many around and made very very nice places , those are few ones , few gems in a vaste sea of sims , openspaces islands and so on , most of those nice sims , are just for people to enjoy with limited businness proposals , and they work to improve the Look of SL , they are seen out of the SL world and showcase SL to other possible clients ....
they show what SL can be like ... problem of sl is that most lands look like anarchical collection of constructions couse of tight fitted parcells one close to the other , and u can find one with good taste close to another with no taste at all or just simply different idea of his place .... altought this is good bc allow ppl to do what they like it ruins the "view" effect.....
this is the main reason why some constructors decided to make island builds ....now not all succeeded into makeing exceptional looking places .... those places really improve the face and the look of SL to the outside and without those places SL would me much much more poor....
Well my sugestion is that SL patronicize and sponsorize those places giving free tiers ... since thos eplaces are probably in the count of 10 or may be 30 max places it shouldnt have any big economic impact .... then also they could be gived another free openspace , homestead or whatever to create a welcoming point , to so help those good builders further evolve their constructions to work in a part to improve the SL look too.... without having the problem of tiers they wont need to fill paces of shops or to rent out parcels but they could concentrate more in making nice things ......
then the other sugestion is to have a proficent team of judges that enforce strict rules for the aplication of the estates that deserve this treatment so that they can pick and scrutiny throught the good looking sims that deserve ....
So far in my Opinion I just saw 3 or 4 estates that do so ... but of course can there be more I didnt see yet....
I hope you like this idea ....
this will also help the community to not "loose" the beautifully crafted openspaces .... and will allow them to have more "nice" places to go and live SL at the best ......

aw that is so sweet, makes me feel all warm inside, but I doubt this will ever be realized. And I have seen so many wonderful things come and go over the years I have been a resident. And there is a lot of nostalgia inworld too. But part of the charm is knowing that the land you are standing on could be gone tomorrow. Sad but true. I spent a while as as sim developer really attached to my sims and various projects too. Until most of them are gone now. The average life span is not that great in SL. But I can post a few amazing places I found this week, that may be a nice thing to do. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Magic%20of%20Oz/212/92/23http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tunnel%20of%20Light/211/222/31http://slurl.com/secondlife/La%20Reve/133/128/6http://slurl.com/secondlife/Euclidia/202/40/602http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kalepa/95/55/15http://slurl.com/secondlife/Spacexcape/4/222/22http://slurl.com/secondlife/Black%20Pearl%20Beach/91/38/23http://slurl.com/secondlife/Venusian/116/188/38

...... you are kidding right? I bet if LL found those places they will start charging them more than others, because they will attract more people to visit and this will cause more load on the servers *LL logic*

Taco was even featured in that printed "Guide to Second Life." It's gone now, gone to that great bitbucket in the sky.
