Well better make plans as LL have seemed to have made up their minds as the CFO Zee Linden posted. We did change the pricing structure from Jack's original post in a post that Mark made. We are not planning to make further changes to the pricing in the post that Mark made, so for now, those are final.

From what I glanced - my 3,750 prims become 750 prims in January. And I still have to pay my OpenSim Landlord $27,000L a month. Tier on 900 prims on the mainland is $6,500L. Doesn't make sense. I feel for my landlord - he invested into rezzing this sim for my use - but I did not rent it to look at one Botanical Tree.

If people read that simple statement, it should tell you what is to come. LL does not seem to worry that a very large percentage of the people paying their salaries are upset.
Again I state, I have been in SL for a little over a year, I have seen two very large things happen with the land. Price drops on Islands to $1000 and now this 67% increase. They don't seem to understand how this hurts the small users who make up the majority. We are being cut out of the game.
Some of you have been here much longer and have seen similar, but how long will you take this, and not just quit. How many of your friends already have?
There are alternatives. Explore them. Some aren't perfect, but with the knowledge we have today, we can make those places a reality.
The big corporations are reading this, do you think they will be happy to stick their neck into this mess? Not today, not for a while, I'm sure.

Currently exploring. As a renter, I've lost my home and my business all in one fail swoop due to this stupidity. If this is what LL wants, hell if I'll be one to stand in their way. I'll live homeless in sl for a little while longer. I won't be reopening my business. My money however will be invested in the up and coming.

From: Cappy Frantisek Ah someone who finally gets it. I got it all along Cappy. That's why I began exploring the alternatives. I really like Openlife Grid. The $1000 I was going to spend on setup, and $295/month in tier has went to purchase one region in OLG. Of course, that only cost me $240 for the setup and first months tier. With 45000 prim, mega, and tiny prims from the build tool, I'll be occupied for a while. I can put up with the down times, and such for now. My investment is small so far. Actually less then I was spending to rent from a land owner in SL, and mine. This was my realignment of the new pricing structure. I am at the start of something new, I can shape the way for the near future of the world I am part of. I'm not ignored. Actually, I'm not ignored to the extent that I asked Kirstenlee if tiny prim support could be added to the viewer, and it was. Only thing I can complain about is I asked for .0001m sizes, and ONLY got .001m I have wonderful friends in SL. Hopefully I can keep track of them. But lately I have added more friends that I have met in OLG to both worlds than I have added friend in SL. That shows something major. I would suggest to anyone, private person or company, explore what is out there. Get a feel for the consumers using the product, and make a choice. Don't be fooled by bells and whistles, because the rest of the grids are coming on strong. Think about being part of that new world. You will shape it's entire future with your presence. Thank you, that's any awesome feeling.

From: madddyyy Schnook Pity for business it has no user base or real money options like SL. Very true. YET. Again, something that needs shape. I don't agree with how they are doing things on everything, but I do believe that if I am there to voice how I feel things should be taken, it will more likely go in that direction. Apologies to the people that have been in OLG for a long time, but some of your ideas are backwards! I hope that I can change some of those ideologies by action. I am an active participant in the growth. I have now a vested interest in that growth by purchasing a Region. This is what is not being heard at Linden anymore it seems, except for a few people. Zee Linden, I give credit, he is not running from the BS he posted as M Linden did. But they still are not hearing what people are saying. To simplify this Lindens. We have no more blood to bleed for you. A large portion of your customer base has been hurt, a larger amount will be hurt. Think on this. Those landlords that have Openspace Sims right now, they drop them, or convert them, whatever. Do you think they won't try and make back some of their investment on their Island land? Those of you who create, look at your sales in the last 2 months, even before this. Where are they, up or down. You noticed this recession long before any of the governments did because you directly see the few $L that you make begin to disappear. I have seen it for a few months with the money that is exchanged in things like tips, and such. Every extra $L spent on rent comes from your sales. Don't fool yourselves. This affects everyone in Second Life. Rant, rave, fight, argue all you want. There are lean times ahead. It will go across the board even if Linden Labs doesn't increase your private island tier as quickly as I believe they intended. Again. I am willing to be a part of something new, because something old is broken, and not working very well. I have not voice here. I'm too new. It's all good though. I can have a nice home now, and not worry about being slammed next week. Thank you, Linden Labs. I'd never have thought of looking somewhere else a month ago.

This is only true if your estate owner request that the sim be converted to a true openspace instead of a homestead in January. Homesteads are basically the same thing that "openspaces" are now, but with a 20 avatar limit and possibly script throttling somewhere down the road- but at a $20 USD monthly increase in price. You're not supposed to use the new openspaces for rentals.
