Lots of regions are used for roleplay and similar activities, which are non profit. I would be glad, if LL includes some aspects of that use into their considerations.
(About myself: I own 8 regions in gorean roleplay and i own the german lanfguage gorean group in SL with 1.500 members.)
Let me point out a few aspects:
1. Higher tier for such regions could be affordet, if we had an instrument to let all visitors of a complex of regions pay "entrance" like once a month. It could be done via a tool in the access options to allow access to all regions owned by group xyz after paying a certain fee once every month.
Why that? I take our regions as example: We provide about 60 % of the ground for common roleplay, open to all. The remaining ground is rented out to groups for their camps, fortresses and such in the framework of this roleplay. Others have houses in villages being part of this roleplay and pay for it. Would we have to raise the higher tier only thru theese rents, we would lift up the burden of those who allready pay, without having a tool to let all, who come in and take part in the ommunity life (here: the roleplay) share the financial burden.
Give us such a tool, and things will be more fair and more affordable.
2. To allow inworld ecenonical planning: please do not allways act in such tremendous steps. You lowered the prices for openspaces and fullprim regions once in a surprising step, ruining people who planned on a midterm range in renting out land. - Now you do the same kind of jumping into the other direction. People do invest and to make it possible to reasonably react: please use smaller steps, even if it would mean more steps, and announce it not that short before it starts.
3. Think about reintroducing the old 1800-Prim-Openspaces as mere landscaping thing for oceans and such.
You see - I did not jump into the discussion of raising openspace prizes, but tried to focus on some effects all this will have.
