Question to anyone-
A few friends of mine have had their and which they rented just pulled out from under them with no warning or even refund at all.. just *poof* and its gone.. which IMO is wrong and very unbusiness like. I dont understand how they can be allowed just to do something like that with no refund. People watch their items *poof* right before their eyes as they are on the land they "thought" they were renting.. people who log in and come to a home that isnt there anymore cause it got removed and the sim flattened. I dont agree with the price change that is going to happen.. but I understand that people might have to get rid of their OS.. I will be getting rid of mine as well. but I sent notice to my renters and paid them the rent that I would of owed them in return.
I am just really curious to know how many others out there has this happened to.

It's unfortunately fairly common for that to happen, and the problem is a lot older than this open space thing. There are no qualifications to become a landlord in SL, and it shows.
Those fly by night operations also hurt rental businesses who are trying to do things right. Anyone who gets burned by one of the bad ones will be thinking twice before renting from any estate, once the reality sinks in that there is no safety net.

I know i've complained a lot on here about estate owner profits on the OS they rent out and that LL should sell homesteads to individuals other than estate owners But if LL continues to only sell them to estate owners, then i will stay with my estate owner,at least i know he is staying and i won't get the rug pulled from under me. I had dabbled with the idea of looking for a cheaper homestead (meaning the profit the estate owner takes is less than i pay now) But in the end i think it is worth it to stay where i am,i have too much money invested in my island home to have it go poof

There is a abuse report topic available now that is for land scams. You can abuse report the landlord under that one and see what happens .

I thank goodness for my landlady, Alisha Matova. She still does not know if she can keep her sims open or not, but she has kept me informed every step of the way as she tries to hammer out a solution to the price increases.
I love where my store is and want to stay, but if that turns out to not be possible, I can at least say that I have been enriched by meeting a truly beautiful human being.

From: Zinbaco Kattun Can we report LL for abuse under Land Scam No. I already tried. Governor Linden does not come up on the resident list when preparing a Abuse Report. .

From: Lias Leandros No. I already tried. Governor Linden does not come up on the resident list when preparing a Abuse Report.. ha! I considered this when I discovered Governor Linden owned 16M parcels with banlines next to my land Instead I asked if I could buy them and got a good deal. FallenAngelz you say the land has been flattened? Do you mean physically or that it's not there at all? There is, as others have stated, a category under the abuse reports for fraud > Land and although it might not yield results it's worth reporting.

Yes me too and by someone I have often recommended here.
Her rationale is that she had to pay tier in arrears ... I'll not comment on that, as it was an OS and I had said I'd relinquish it despite having paid. That was out of friendship, what has happened was not taking me up on that though. There's not a friendship any more either - I had felt bad for her as she had many OS but after this I don't feel bad at all. I don't go to work RL to financially support her after all, and once someone is that rude and tries emotional blackmail then they are out of the Cherry club.
However my rental contract was directly with her and not with LL, I paid in advance for a month's rental and that is not what I got.
I don't much care. Got four regions due any day now in OLG.
