Not here to discuss the pros and cons, just after some "facts" - if they exist.
1. We know prices are set to go up in July. I have been unable to find wheter a specific date was given - is there one?
2. If someone has tier due (for example) 5 days before the price change, does that person pay the old rate or the new rate?
3. Script limits for Homesteads have been mentioned, and I've been hearing figures from people. Have any figures been announced yet?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

-- Miro Miro . . . 1. I have heard the date is July 9 but just searched around and can't find it either-everything is just saying July '09. 2. The way it worked on the first increase was that your increase happened on your first payment date FOLLOWING the announced date of the increase-so if you are due even 1 day before the announced date, you paid the "old" rate. I would assume it will be the same this time, but then it IS LL. 3. A question that everyone is asking and getting no response. If the answer is out there, it is buried deep. Peace, Keo

Here's what I heard for what it's worth...

I was just discussing this last night with my estate owner. She's got about 75 Homesteads so I figure she knows a bit more than I do with my little 1/2 and 1/4 Homestead parcels. She told me rate officially go up on July 1st and like you said, first tier due date after that will reflect the new rates. With regard to the scripting limitations, an issue very important to a script whore like me, nobody seems to know anything. They alledgedly imposed SOME scripting limits January 1st, but I didn't notice anything.
How's that or a non-committal, I don't know nuttin' kind of response? Sorry. I've been keeping an eye on this issue for a while now and there just isn't any reliable information out there. I'm a fan of the Homestead sims, and I run an amusement park on one, so as you can imagine, I just LOVE my scripts! But, alas, they ain;t talking...I think it's a secret!
By the way...Hello again Keoki!

Thanks for the responses so far. So it would seem that (a) and numbers I have heard re: script limits are an "urban myth", and (b) there is confusion as to when the price increases (July 1 or July 9). :-| Here's hoping a Linden will post something come next week.

Here is a thread where it was being discussed /327/d5/312790/1.htmlfrom briefly reading the thread the limits won't be enforced or in use for a while yet as other things need to be done and also IIRC that was what was suggested by LL at the hieght of the OS fiasco. In my opinion, the keeping of the agent limit to 20 at any one time for the Homestead sim, takes care of most potential problems that "abuse" with scripts can do. Linden Lab more or less has already fixed the alleged problem. In essence, heavy commerical activity simply can not be done on a Homestead sim with a 20 agent limit. I realize that scripts can still be a problem even with one agent present, but really though, that one agent would more or less be a griefer of sims who just wouldn't last long on a well run sim.
