there is. I believe you save the data to a "raw" file. No idea how this works, but I know it is possible. Search the forums.

From: Katt Linden Last edited by Katt Linden : Today at 06:18 PM. Reason: unfortunate typo Please correct at least the worst of my typos too. Thanks. Seriously I can't help but wonder what kind of typo Katt would correct. As to the question, I believe there are bot programs that can back up content and terrain and such. I'm not familiar with the specifics. Saving the raw files would save the terrain, but I think there are bot programs that can do more.

You can save the terrain with a raw file. In estate tools under the terrain tab, there's an upload and download option. If you don't have estate management privileges you might need to get the estate manager to do that for you.

ugh i am trying to reply to this thread with useful info but every time i paste in my actual reply, the forum keeps saying i don't have access to some cgi script.
There is no way for residents to do exactly what you're saying. I THINK I've heard of full-sim packagers (you might take a look on XStreetSL.com) but they will only work for objects for which you have full permissions. Any no-mod or no-copy objects you have would not be backed up.
(note: the paragraph above is the first paragraph of my original reply, but if I add anything else to my message I get the following: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /editpost.php on this server.) Sorry. I might send you a note in-world.

There is a product out there called Horizon. If you buy the builders version the advertising claims that you can use it to rez and de-rez all the objects in an entire sim. I have the basic version which lets you rez and de-rez pre made scenes and it works quite nicely.

Is it legal or it is a prohibited thing?
rez fauxis a mess to use for a large vast complex of custom made buildings , I have and U need to depack in severall pieces and would take a hell of a time to subdivide all and the result wont even be that secure in the end .... works good with small stuff not with whole sims I guess....
I dpnt care tp duplicate objects that arent mine but , it would be nice if I could freeze all an pack somwehere possibly ... may be a tool fomlinden to do this would have helped a lot....

All Linden Labs lets you do is fly over in edit mode, sweep out a chunk of it at a time, and take it into inventory coalesced.
