I know that Linden Labs has this uncanny ability to make major drastic decisions and implement them overnight. I refuse however to believe that Linden Labs were not discussing and planning this their latest PR screw up several weeks before it became a public announcement..of course they weren't.

So how many Open Space Sims do you suppose were sold to customers while all this discussion and planning was going on ? How many Open Space Sims were sold to residents days or even hours or minutes before the declaration was made ? And how many residents were advised that maybe they might want to wait a day or so, I suspect absolutely none. I believe Linden Labs simply took their money in the full knowledge that they (LL) were on the eve of making drastic changes to the contract their customer had just agreed to. How on earth can Linden Labs expect to retain the trust of the residents (their customers) of Second Life while engaging in business practices like that.

So..how many residents will Linden Labs agree to refund..those who purchased over the previous week..one month..six months ? Or will Linden Labs hide behind it's terms and conditions ?

I was lucky, I had my finger hovering over the enter key poised to purchase two Open Sims but inexplicably I backed off, to think about it. Others were I suspect not so lucky and still reeling from the shock of discovering the truth are now asking...

Can we have our money back please...?

I've bought my second OS sim 10 days before the announcement. I wouldn't mind a price increase after a year or so, a moderate price increase by 10-20% that is. But a 66% increase 10 days after the purchase, that's a very questionable business practice.

I'd like a refund too, for the one of my 2 sims that I've decided to abandon (after investing lots of work in it, as well as approx. 20,000 L$ for landscaping supplies and furniture).

I'm guessing Ishtara meant they (LL) announced a 66% rise in charges 10 days after purchase.

Well, I even think they have to give everybody the money back who bought the OS after they changed them to 3.750 prims and wants to abandon it, as it is clearly consumer fraud.

Imagine you sign up with an internet provider which offers a flat rate for 75 USD a month and you have to buy a special modem from them as only that works for 250 USD. After 6 months they tell you, sorry we have to increase the fee to 125 USD per month as our users use it too much. As you cannot afford it, you cancel the service. Wouldn’t you ask them to take the modem back and pay you back the 250 USD you paid for it?

And don’t you think you could force them by law to do so, as they miss leaded you?
