Bad Estate Owner in this OS problem

Please Leave you messages about Estate Owners.. Keep it clean But i think the Lindens need to know what this has caused at the end user level...

My story i rented 5 Sims. all connected for a role play area. at no time was there more than 5 AV's on any Sim. as for agents i have checked them as well this area was large forest and walking paths.....

My estate manager collected my tier after this information was released. With the guidance that this would not effect us until January 2008. Tier of 550 USD.

Then he decided to not pay any tier to the Lindens and the Sims started Poooofing
and not tell any of his customers. Just collected tier from all of us and let the land go back.

I ask for a refund of my UNUSED tier... His reason was JACK LINDEN says all the current use of OS Sims are in violation of TOS. Therefor he is not required to provide service to us and dose not owe unused tier...

I know and i have read that the Lindens have no part of a third party agreement. And we are to take this up with the Estate manager.

There is no guidance on this from the Lindens i have talked to many PPL that not only lost there homes Ect... But got taken to the cleaners from the estate owner on top of it.

I ask that some Linden at least admonish these Estate managers.. and give us some tools
to deal with them freeze accounts .... if 5 or 10 complaints then don't allow the Estate manager to collect money from the 11th.

Yes I'd expect there to be a few estate owners who take advantage of the situation, especially those who are deciding to cash out and leave, this could affect some full sims too.

This isn't something that you can blame Linden Lab for, although the suggestion you make regarding freezing of funds may have some merit. If the sims are going poof now then it suggests tier wasn't paid prior to the announcement to be honest, or that they've abandoned the sims.

Sadly it appears your estate owner is a thief and my recommendation is to file an abuse report on the individual and select the abuse category of Fraud > Land.

Your estate owner has committed an act of fraud. A stupid one too, as Linden's published their tier increase in public before every contacting the estate owners. I have done the opposite. I have given 2 months notice to all of my tenants. The consequence of that is that they are all leaving immediately and I have to give them back their deposit money. With no chance of re-renting that land (I was renting at cost price anyway) I have had to abandon two Open Space sims that I only bought three months ago.

We all got screwed - but at least yours is easy to do something about.

Had anyone ever seen a set of terms and conditions? I searched and also submitted a ticket asking for them three days ago.

And the sad thing is LL does NOT GET INVOLVED with customer to customer disputes, if they started that now i don't think they would have the staff to deal with all the fraud that goes on here in SL.

Just to clarify Jack Linden has at no point stated that OS are against the TOS so your landlord is definately commiting fraud and trying to pull a fast one i hope you are reimbursed and that he gets punished good luck.
