The Open Spaces I know are being used as huge landscaped and artistic projects, where large, natural-looking land expanses are vital for them to work.

Most of these are non-commercial and created by artists and designers experimenting with what beauty can be created in a virtual world.

They are being lost now, due to the price hike, along with hundreds of man hours of work and the optimism people had with making SL a more beautiful place.

SL needs these expanses to make it work. Or are we all to live jammed together on ugly mainland next to empty malls, strip clubs and flat rectangles of blocky pixels?

It seems we are.
