When you introduced this in March, there was no mention that you were not able to rent the sim to other people, nor did it say you were not allowed to use the 3700 prims allotted however you want to.

I have spent six months doing what I regard as a fantastic build, that I will now have to destroy because I can't keep shelling out more money. Our sim (Siphonios) is not overused and we have very few scripts on it so I don't see as how we are causing such stress on your servers.

Given the economy it seems like you are running people right out of SL who are not in an income bracket to keep shelling out more money for the same thing. If there were use restrictions on these sims it should have been quantified up front.

You aren't causing any stress to the servers, and if you would, LL wouldn't care. The open sim pricing is causing stress, because it makes an OS sim more attractive than a 1/4 or 1/2 mainland region. That's all. You have to suffer so LL can sell more mainland.

From the knowledge base:

"It is therefore important to understand what these regions are. They are provided for light use only, not for building, living in, renting as homes or use for events. As a stretch of open water for boating or a scenic wooded area they are fine, but we do not advise more serious use than this and will not respond to performance issues reported should you not use them in this way."

You don't need 3700 prims for any of those things. A prim does not know if it is a tree or a piece of airport tarmac. We are operating well within the limits they created, and have not complained once about performance. If they did not want us to use the sims, the prim restriction should not have been increased.

Similar text was in the blog about the original openspace pricing changes..

What is an Openspace?

An Openspace is a type of private island intended for light use countryside or ocean. Unlike normal regions that effectively get a CPU to themselves on the server, there can be up to four Openspaces on a single CPU, sharing the resource (hence them being ‘light use’).
