Linden Industries must be headed up by the ex board of directors of Enron. I am so happy about the timing of this announcement because I was going to purchase a sim and I was so near doing that, it was narrowed down to 3 possibilities. Thanks to Linden, my choice was made for me. None. Not now not ever. Attention Linden! When this price change takes effect watch the shops, clubs, services and membership disappear like a David Copperfield illusion. Linden Industries evidently has a death wish because the attractions which now exist for members will be long gone, and all that will remain will be ashes of what was once a unique and interesting virtual experience. I presently rent and in a week when my lease expires I will not spend one single linden on anything. I'll simply sit back and watch the crumbling of Second Life into nothingness. Would I ever trust Linden again? Certainly. About as much as I would trust my ex wife. If anyone at Linden actually reads these posts and if anyone actually cares, I strongly suggest you reverse this greed driven decision if you have any interest in Second Life's survival. It's patently obvious no one there cares about your customers so I thought the word survival might appeal to your greed.

Actually, you're not suppose to run shops and clubs on these OS sims Homes and beautiful parks will disappear though - that is sad. That's where the gray area is. LL claimed OS is not suppose to be "lived in" and for "light use" but those distinctions were never quantified. A water sim with 15 heavily scripted boats racing around probably takes up more server and network resources than a home with 2 avatars chatting and staring at virtual sunset. But under LL's definition, the first one is allow and not the second scenario. Though the first scenario would be the reason for the price increase.

From: Lucincia Muliaina Actually, you're not suppose to run shops and clubs on these OS sims This is not true.. it never said it's forbidden, nor unaccepted. It's not ADVISED, that is a pointer, but not a restriction.

Okay - true. You're right. It was adviced and they provide no support if you have issues.

So What?

Even if there are clubs that shouldn't exist in Voids, that's not the point. The point is, everyone who has a void also has other land. And if you abandon the void, ALL YOUR LAND AND POSSESSIONS are forfeited and the user banned from SL.
Try to dump the voids you can no longer afford, and you lose everything. Can't sell them either - thanks, Jack...
SL is about to be a very empty place, if they don't fix this fast. AT the minimum, they should allow landowners to abandon voidsims without penalty for the next 3 months. Otherwise SL will be nothing but a massive void, starting in January. Landowners who had voids and paid tier every month will be gone, and they and their friends (who also paid money to LL) will not be coming back. If my group's islands are taken away, kiss me and my 1K$ a year goodbye as well.

No support if you have issues. No problem. They never said, if you have issues we'll hike up the prices and leave you with more expensive issues.
