Openspace Price Increase Affects Renters

As a renter of an openspace island sim I've enjoyed sharing my own private island with my partner and a couple of friends. We haven't abused scripts or prims, and have experienced relatively little lag in our enjoyment of SL and our mutual friendship at a reasonable price (a little under 100 USD a month). With the Openspace Price Increase, my rent will be going up significantly at the start of the New Year to help the owner meet her price increases arbitrarily mandated by LL. Unlike the RL market place, which is going through economic termoil around the world effecting everyone's daily living expenses, SL is a medium where most can escape from those economic pressures to a degree at an affordable rate....not any more. Thanks LL for turning what has been up to this point an enjoyable experience, into one competing with the same type of stressors experienced in RL. I don't need this, and most other SL residence don't need it either. Punish those who are abusing the system, and leave us who work within the system alone!

I charge my renters $L6,499 for 937 prims and 8192m of land. They love it and I make a few lindens out of it. With LL's new policy I would have to charge $10,500 for the same land. I'm finding it difficult getting people in at $6,499, no one will rent at $10,500, so I'm going to have to abandon my sims.

Congrats LL that $US3,300 you will now miss out on.

Unfortunately it would require a ruling or someway of watching these people who set up business and hog one part of a chain. As well as the so called land barons who have profited by neglecting to tell people the true USE for open space sims. I thought the name of these sims may have given a clue to there use. but while $$$$ is dangling they go ahead and spoil it for everyone else. i was just about to order 4 open space sims for the use of sailing in open water, a nice private getaway. 4 sims with only probably 2000 prims max, but tons of open water. looks like i will not be now. who to blame though.... LL or the land barrons and sellers. or the renters of whom some at least must have known about the useages.

That's because they can rent at $L6499 for 937 prims anywhere. They won't be able to when the price increase kicks in.

The sky isn't falling. This is an improvement, There are just a lot of people who fail to see the big picture.

Successful business owners don't abandon their businesses just because the cost of doing business goes up.
