Has anyone noted here that for a very long time, Linden Labs has doled out free Open Spaces under the ownership of "Governor Linden." These Open Spaces, all being just water for the most part, are dispersed throughout the Mainland, and can be used for the enjoyment of the residents there for boating and swimming, etc. And guess what, these free Open Spaces have 15,000 prims allocated to them.

One must consider this generous fact on the part of Linden Labs. But then again, considering the untold ugliness of the Mainland, I guess the residents there need such little perks and free at that. Estate owners don't deserve such freebies - rather, let them pay for their Open Spaces and now they can pay for them through their nose.

(This topic drips with sarcasm, but these freebie Open Spaces remains a fact in the world of Linden Labs' precious Mainland.)

It also drips with idiocy.

One: They aren't "Open Space" sims. They are full sims (15,000 prims).

Two: They aren't "doled out". They are owned by Linden Lab ("Governor Linden";).

Three: They are called "Linden waters" and they are free for passage by all.

How else do you think one could sail a boat for any distance? Make them all privately owned and in two days the waterways would be blocked by banlines, security orbs, and prim platforms with clubs on them.

LL Lackey Writes: One: They aren't "Open Space" sims. They are full sims (15,000 prims).

Yoki Enoch Responds: Correct, as I pointed out already - 15,000 prims.

LL Lacky Writes: Two: They aren't "doled out". They are owned by Linden Lab ("Governor Linden";).

Yoki Enoch Responds: They are doled out for the adjacent residents to use, even though ownership is still retained by LL. They are the equivalent of Open Spaces, "for light use."

LL Lacky Writes: Three: They are called "Linden waters" and they are free for passage by all.

Yoki Enoch Responds: They are equivalent to Open Space sims but are Mainland style - owned by LL but for use by the residents on the Mainland. One can call them "Linden Waters" or whatever one might want to call them, but their purpose on the Mainland is the equivalent for the Open Space on the Estates. But Linden Labs SUBSIDIZES the Mainland residents with such utilities, but makes Estate owners pay through the nose big time, and even more now.

On the Estates, the Estate owner must pay for such luxuries, but on the Mainland, they are put in for free by Linden Labs.

Your move, now LL Lacky.

The point is this: Linden Labs provides the equivalent of Open Space sims for free to Mainland residents, whereas Estate owners have to pay outrageous prices to provide their residents with the same. Perhaps you are another LL Lacky... I guess time will tell.
