Hey all, well linden labs pull another one. I understand the "overuse" part of the announcements. For the good of all they want to kee the grid stable and as smooth as possible. But, things have been left to go too far down the line. I have an os, rented from one of the main landbuyers. There wasnt anything about keeping things small and light. With no cov etc i was led to believe i could use the os as i saw fit, the low prim count keeping me in check. But, enough babbling. My main point, and tell me if its not workable, they say they need to keep in check the "high usage" on some of the os's. Mine, and a friends os are built as lagoons. Traffic is no more than a couple friends being there at any one time, and they are infact open space. trees, water, and the odd tiki hut. Far from the top end of say one with a club and a few rental homes. Instead of charging a flat rate increase, couldnt the os's be graded to traffic? Graded from minimum use to top end shopping and entertainment sims? I know there are a lot of open sims, and that this may not be workable ( im sure they could tell what servers where heavily used, thus telling them the 4 sims creating the trouble), but surely it may be a bit fairer. Pricing could possibly be looked at for the traffic numbers. Just a thought. I have been a second life resident for over 2 years, using a couple alts, and was over the moon the day i had my own sim. Loosing it would be a sore one.
At a time when maybe say last 6 months a lot of ppl have left this could turn out to be an end of the road for a lot more....
Post ur replies, who knows the above may be totally laughable, but its just a thought. oh and one other thing, the latest post said all the posts where looked at. For a lot of residents this has really touched a nerve, so thank you ll for listening to the residents of second life. Just dont bite the hands of those who pay ur wages !!
