Thought people may want to look at this.. If you haven't already that is, or maybe you didn't even know about this.
I have been there... the other week to take a look at it.. land is up for auction there too..
Any takers?
Seems to me to be somewhat hypocritical of LL really, in light ofthe current climate that is!

This is the link that has the image listed
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-1776
Title of the link:
'OpenSpace Sim Prices SHOULD NOT Be Going Up! VOTE To Stop This ridiculous increase!'

The link below is an image from this link..
It lists the Sims used in Nautilus and makes for interesting reading to say the least..
http://jira.secondlife.com/secure/attachment/19935/void+sims+used+in+Nautilus.gif
Title: Open Space/Void Sims used in Nautilus

It reminds me of these addages..

"Don't do what I do... do what I say"
(I, LL that is, own SL so I can do what I like!)

and

"The public wants what the public gets...."
(in our case it seems to be a 66% price increase!)

ok..not all the prims have been used.. but then again do we, or have we, all used our allocation of prims in OS regions?
Monkey see.... monkey do!!

Barbossa is not a Nautilus sim so it should not have been included in the list. The rest of the sims are water sims with the exception of 3-4. These include water and some parkland with no ability to support 1,024 parcels for either rental or sale...so your point is?

The open space sims in Nautilus are being used for open space and mostly water. Whoulda' thunk? (=_=)

My point...

Maybe if you read the post correctly you'd get it.
It's not about whether they are water or parkland.. it is the fact that these are OS regions and are using various amounts of prims... just like owners of OS regions are doing!
I'm noy bothered as to if Barbossa is meant to be on the list.. it is the list in general.
This list was put up by concerned people in SL, and not by me. I am merely pointing it out to people so they can see what it is that LL are doing with OS regions... the same as what others in here are doing.. Creating a place for people to visit and to use.
Do you own an OS region? I think not I bet, if you did then you'd voice concerns over what LL intend to do, if you had any that is. Somehow I don't think you do.
Look on the forums and see all the posts aobut this price hike of 66%. Go read the blogs elsewhere and see what the reaction had been to this.
Go to Ahern and talk to LL people about everyone that was there over the past few days since the announcement of a 66% price increase and then tell me what YOU think the point is.
Would you be happy if you have to pay that 66% extra on top of your tier? I bet not!
Those are also the points that other people are making too.. as well as some repudiating LL's claiims too.
All valid points and they'd also get the point of this post.. unlike you, who seemed to have missed it altogether.

It is exactly about using OSs for water or parkland. That's what they were always meant for. So it's hypocritical of LL to use something the way it's intended?

And I don't own an OS because I read the blog and the knowledgebase, understood what they were for, and as that didn't meet my needs I didn't get one.

The temple with all the dolphin statues is an openspace. Or at least it was a week ago.

No part of the temple is on the auction block... It's open space. (=_=)

Looks like a substantially built on space to me.

Prim counts are nothing....

Get 40 avatars on 4 mainland or full estate sims with Mystitool attached, then do the same thing on 4 Open Space sims sharing the same server.... Then come back and say things are just as good. (=_=)

Yes, I know it's nearly an impossible experiment to monitor, but in theory, it's what's happening on the abused OS sims. (=_=)

Hence why Linden lab needs to address this technical problem with a technical not a financial solution.
...That would be limiting the number of avis per openspace.
