"Homesteads" are now approved to rent for quiet residential or light commercial use. So I'd like to start seeing some tools to better support that for us estate owners. To start, how about a way to grant renters the ability to change terrain textures and other attributes on their homestead region? The current method of adding them as an "Estate Manager" isn't appropriate, nor convenient for large estates. I've added a JIRA to add the idea of a "Region Manager". You can read and vote for it at: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9562-RR

From: Abigail Merlin you can already do this, just make every region it's own estate hi. no. this is the "nor convenient for large estates" part. i have over 100 openspace regions in the same estate; which is preferable since i can then manage all their common parts via the estate tools. changing the covenant in one place to update them all, just for one example. that ability is lost if i put each region in its own estate. the concept of 'region manager' really is something that is necessary for many of us, for exactly this reason.

This would indeed be highly beneficial to residents renting full regions. There are some parts of the estate tools normally not accessible for such tenants (e.g. monitoring top scripts and top colliders) which would aid in keeping the region well run. This would also allow residents to lend a hand in decreasing server load (an objective which is, I gather, dear to LL's heart).
Voted for it.

When you create or vote for a pjira issue you need to also click the watch it link so you will be informed of changes and comments. If desired of course. But it helps to know if someone comes by and cancels the feature request because they like to go around canceling other people's recommendations, etc.
This is an excellent feature recommendation that got my vote.
