I have spent more time reading the blog and forum than I had planned on. Bottom line is we don't trust you any more. Trust is a funny thing, you abuse it and you lose it. None of us can afford what you are purposing that is why people are dumping Sims, cashing out and moving to other worlds. Of course now "due to technical issues" we are being held hostage, we can dump lands and cash out and move on, yeah right anyone who believes "due to technical issues" the mass exodus has been halted is naive and LL has found out that we are not.

This whole thing was initially presented as "due to technical issues" and soon turned around to be about money. I really think LL figured we would be passive about these changes and just deal with it, passive like so many are in RL about so many issues. The one thing LL didn't take into account is that we are the people in RL that aren't passive, we are the people in RL who make noise and rebel when we get screwed over.

It will be interesting to see what the final outcome is of this, right now there are people in LL board room with there heads on the table.

Posts: 11 Massive OS sim abandonments

Due to this unfair price increase that makes OS Sims an unviable product I will be abandoning 26 OS SIMs and know of thousands of other that will do the same.

Sad LInden Labs is so short sited as to kill of the communities that have supported them in the past, many are now fleeing to there.com in the light of this scam.

Adjustable rate tiers with no terms or conditions. Hmm, that worked well for the US mortgage market. We the tax payers are forced to bail out the banks for their incompetence. We don’t have to bail out Linden Lab for economic ignorance. Consumer consumption is down 3% this quarter, the biggest drop in 28 years. Brilliant time for a 67% price increase. What do you think would happen if our new president decided to raise taxes 67% after 3 months in office?

Yeah. I saw that one, too.

It's sad that this landlords are throwing their renters out so quickly after this was announced. Far more tenants are getting screwed than landlords, I think.

This is not guns vs. butter. SL is discretionary spending not a fixed cost like gas or food. When the gas prices went up in the Us by 30% the demand dropped 12% in weeks. Most new players who stick around long enough to want a place of their own rent in open space with a very small prim count. Raise the cost 66% in am elastic market, and make the open sims worthless. I would think Lab will loose at least 25% of new players that would have been long term. The multi sim owners that were building communities are disgusted whit this rash decision. The real estate model this game is based on no longer works. The Major sim owners will leave by the thousands. No one will buy land because the trust is gone and this game is over by 4/09. Thanks Jack, steady hand at the wheel…..
