How are Homestead Regions and Openspaces different?

Openspaces are intended for very low-impact use only. They share ___4 CPUs per server____, and support a limited

number of objects. When the new changes go into place, they will support 750 prims and only 10 avatars, and will likely place limits on scripts running in the Region, as well as being unable to use event postings and classifieds.

(( 4 CPUs per server makes no sense to me ))
(( No further comment on that one ))

Homestead regions are for quiet residential or light commercial use. They are not intended for events, malls, or other high-impact uses. When new changes go into place, they will support 3750 prims and 20 avatars, and will likely also have script limits.

Why is nowhere mentioned, if those Homesteads run 4 per cpu ? 3,2 or on a dedicated CPU ?

To my knowledge, it is generally counted per core, not per server. One core, one sim or four openspaces. So a quad-core server runs 16 openspaces. -Potentially, at least. How exactly the sims are distributed amongst the cores/machines is unknown.
Homesteads are, for all practical purposes (except price) the "old" openspaces, so four to a core.
There is informal talk about running homesteads 3 to a core to help performance, but so far, it's only on the "yeah, we might do that" level as answer to "how will the extra money actually help the performance which supposedly was the issue in the first place?"

Whether LL intends to keep running the new 750-prim openspaces four to a core, or if they will be shuffled off to older hardware or stacked tighter is unknown.
