Well,I have been in SL for just under two months now,and I am finding life harder than in real life.Land isnt just bought. You pay for it,then can only put something on it if you have enough prims, etc. Those cost more, etc. The bills just keep piling up,higher and higher.I joined.,thinking that this would be a lot more fun even than Morrowind.I dont know why, really,I thought it would be a place where you could make a lot of friends, build a home, etc. While I have made a few really nice friends, everything else has just been a letdown. Please forgive me for this.Even buying LBs is rough, with the site being unable to take the money our of my account. No reason on my banks end either.I called them. So,in the end, what I realized is that Morrowind is a beautiful perfectly livable place to be,without paying one cent for anything.(other than the game and its two expansions together under $50.00) While you cant make real money, you certainly can find and make Gold ingame. You can even make gold vie the old Alchemy trick,if your a Mage. Also, somewhere in the forums,I read one person sad because they bought a Castle and couldnt use it.To that person,if I find them again, please, goto Morrowind, where you can add as many Castles to the land as you wish. You may build them, add them with a mod,and put them anywhere there isnt another building. I almost upgraded to Premium, until I read up on what it takes to find a place yo put the stuff you have collected inworld. People,.if you want it all,for free, just buy Morrowind.Create the look you want, live as you want, for free. Take care and Blessed Be, SLK

I'm sorry you feel that way. Lots of us love it right here.
I've owned land in several different places. I currently own a half region on the mainland. Is that expensive? Yep. I pay $125 USD every month to Linden Lab. But I make a lot of that back by renting out parcels to others. In a good month, my land pays for itself and even makes a small profit.
I don't know what you mean about "paying for prims". Once you own or rent a bit of land, or even stand in a public sandbox, you can rez prims and create, right up to the maximum prims that the parcel supports.
As for those other virtual worlds...most of them have a monthly subscription fee, don't they? SL is free, unless you choose to go Premium, or to own or rent land. And if you are sharp, and clever, and work hard and have a bit of luck, you might even take away more money than you put in. I don't know any other virtual world that can make that claim.

1 - Morrowind is a single player game - you can not meet other people from all over the world, interact with them, form bonds with them etc etc
2 - You can not earn REAL money from Morrowind, the gold is only pretend money for use in the game. In SL you have the potential to earn L$ which you can convert to very real US$
I really don't see how the two are comparable, to be honest.
