Deleting Your Premium Accounts

I have deleted all of my premium accounts except the one that owns my Open Sim, which is my primary account. I don't even have to have a premium account for the primary either, since I don't have a "full region", and am just a tenant. I may downgrade my primary account too.

In the comments section, which comes up when you downgrade, LL asks you why you are downgrading. I told them it was because I didn't need to give them any more money, since they are raising the rates on my Open Sim. There is no reason to have a primary account unless you are an estate owner with LL and actually do own the land.

Anyone else doing something similar?

You're wrong about this.

The only reason to have a premium account is to be able to own mainland. You can own estates without a premium account.

You also get a stipend and 512 free tier.

The 512 square meter piece of free Mainland land was done away with quite some time ago.
You do get a "bonus" of "free tier" on 512 sq. m. of "land" you have to BUY a 512 meter plot, as a premium user to get the 512 free tier bonus.

The stipend is 300 l's a week, which works out to USD $59.49 at todays Lindex exchange rate.

So it still is not profitable. You also get "premium" support with a premium account. It includes live chat which I will testify to as working well, the one time I had to use it.

You cannot own any land anywhere and be the estate owner unless you have a premium account.

One premium account is all that is needed for live support, buying land, and the rest of the things stated above. All your alt's can just live on your land, like any other "free" user.

whatever you think your wrong, you can buy a full private island direct from the Lindens without being a premium account, you only need it for mainland.

As stated above you don't need a premium account to own an island and you will still get concierge level support. Premium accounts are only required to own mainland.

How did you get that number? L$300 = U$1.15

Multiple premium accounts?!?!?!?! (O_o)

I have my one account... Me (^_^)y ...and I only went premium for my 512 parcel. The stipend was surely nice though and I'm bloody well spending it. I've taken advantage of support tickets and live help a couple times, it was useful. Comparing the entertainment value I'm getting from SL -vs- say... DVD rentals and my old Anime addiction. Going premium was well worth the monies. =^-^=

And, the responses are correct here. You can be a basic account and own an estate. In owning an estate, by default, you qualify for concierge support. But... If you're just a tenant or a renter of a partial sim... You don't have to be premium, probably don't spend enough to qualify for concierge. Most any support you'll ever get will come from your landlord. (^_^)y

Yes it's a years stipends, RL year.

Not sure about buying an island if you are not a premium member. But if you can, then one more reason to NOT be a premium member. Why have a premium membership so you can buy land on the crowded laggy mainland, when you can get a private island without being a premium member and spending USD 72?

Honestly, Swiftly. You actually thought you needed to be premium to buy an island?

yep about 20 minutes ago I downgraded, I dont own land so the 300L aweek isnt worth the 9.95 a month. put that towards my rent instead.
