First Linden attempts to swindle us with a 67% price hike. Than in what can only be described as a vindictive response for embarrassing the company with bad media, the terms of Openspaces have been changed to retain the price while reducing the capability of Openspaces by by a factor of 5 (3750 prims to 750 prims), not counting the TBD borking of the sims to limit script, CPU, avatars, and advertising. So whereas we are currently paying 2 cent a prim current, we will instead get to pay 10 cents a prim - an obscene 500% hike.

Of course Linden has magnanimously retained the first offer to raise us 67% by offering a Homestead sim (the current openspace with a different name) and we're suppose to fall to our knees in tearful thanks to the corporate junta, and salute their generosity. Indeed, I'm sure many will salute this latest 'offer' with a single digit.

May be they hop ethat someone don't go making the calculations and think hey I keep paying the same for my sea ocean side .....

Personally I think that OCEAN SIMS Should be NEARLY FREE , and you should be able to buy a bunch of 4 at time ....paying less than what now costs one ....

750 prims is the equivalent prim allowance of approximately 3276 sqm. For comparison, a 4096sqm lot allows 937 prims and costs only US$25 per month.

New openspace: pay more, get less! What a deal... NOT.

Not so, Malia...you COULD go buy on the NEW Nautilus continent...where their latest bad policy is in effect devaluing the thousands of existing mainland sims...On Nautilus, you don't get just 937 prims on a 4096sm parcel...you get "2X bonus" prims...permanently...so you could actually get 937 prims there, on only a 2048sm parcel...and THAT would only cost you $15 per month...Just another "great" deal that screws over anyone that has existing land in SL....in a misguided attempt to maximize the LL revenue streams...at the expense of their customers...

Double prim land has been around on the mainland for years, though until recently there hasn't been much of it, and it's phenomenally expensive (Grignano, Barcola, Sistiania, Miramare...more, even than Bay City and Nautilus). But sure, there used to be four, now there's more....of them.

Double prim land is VERY common in private estates. When I was looking for land for a business, I wasn't considering anything less than a 1.5x bonus, with 2x being ideal and 1.5x being a compromise. Land's for sale now if anybody wants it. About the same prims as an openspace island! :D
