****: Hello Vittorio_Beerbaum, what can I help you with? If you're checking on a ticket status, our current turnaround time is within 10 business days of submission of the ticket.

Vittorio_Beerbaum: Hallo ****, it's about the openspace conversion, i need a clarification please.

****: sure thing, what can I help with

Vittorio_Beerbaum: it's about this: "and some script limiting will likely be introduced" << i need that you quantify (in numbers please) the word "some", so i can decide if that limit would affect my homestead usage or not, and so i can decide about he conversion or not.

****: they've actually just posted a new blog about that exact part - we're going to be monitoring script usage across all regions for the first two quarters of 2009 and then determine what the limits should be, and we'll provide new tools for monitoring those on your region plus ample time to adjust your script usage before enforcing the new limits

****: let me get the link for you

****: http://blog.secondlife.com/2009/01/03/about-the-homestead-launch-and-script-limits/

Vittorio_Beerbaum: ok so you likely to extend the "free" conversion after you decided what limit it will be, since how i can decide today if you didn't decided wich limit it will be?

****: at this point conversion will be free if they're requested by Jan 31st

****: we are doing the monitoring period so we can ensure that the script limits will be high enough to cover regular usage of scripts on the type of region you have according to the average of all users in SL

Vittorio_Beerbaum: I understand, but the decision is made (partially) on the (whenever it will be) script limits too... if im not wrong, so how i can decide by Jan 31 if the script limits will be introduced later this year?

****: that's why we're allowing another full quarter for residents to reduce their script usage on the region after its been determined what the average script usage is and what the limits will be

Vittorio_Beerbaum: you will release the scripting usage limits after the Jan 31st, so if i will not like these limits, i can't convert my simulator for free, because you didn't gave me enough informations to decide *before* the deadline. :|

****: as I said, we're using the two quarters to determine the average usage on those types of regions and the script limits will be judged in accordance to average use - only regions that are using far more than the average would be affected, and that is why we're giving another quarter for people to reduce their script usage

****: basically if you feel your script usage is going to be in the top 10% of usage for the type of region you own, you may want to plan on upgrading the region, but at this point I cannot say if we will be offering free conversions down the road or not

****: if you'd like to suggest that option please post it on the blog post I linked above, as Jack is the one that would be making the decision on that

Vittorio_Beerbaum: i see, so i'm buying a car and after i've paied it you gonna tell me at wich speed i can go, not before i pay :P ...yes i think i need to suggest a more logic solution :)

Vittorio_Beerbaum: thanks for your help anyway :)

Well, no one can claim that LL does not recognize that its users have feelings. How many sim owners "feel" that script usage is in the top 10%?

How many programmers "feel" that their coding is correct? Hmmm

Maybe what LL really means is for us to use our psychic powers to determine that script usage is too high before the poop hits the fan because, obviously, LL has already determined that the top 10% of script usage will be slashed.

So I plead with all sim owners, when your feelings have determined that us tenants' script usage is in the top 10%, let us know will ya? That way we can prepare now, and not have any unpleasant surprises down the road. Thank you.
