Too many issues with viewer

I am having severe lag, even with everything turned down to basic, unable to rez avatars or objects, missing conversation posts that don't show up until relogging. Does anyone know or have a link to the older viewer or an independent client? I can't cope with the loss of function and usability, it is making my experience of SL very sour.

Unfortunately, none of those problems you listed are specific to the viewer. Granted, the new viewer has its share of issues, but none of what you listed. Those are all server-side issues that have been plaguing SL the last several weeks, particularly the last week or two.

Well, that is kind of good to hear, though they only started showing up when I upgraded to the newest release. I hope they fix it soon.

I dont see how the 1.23.4 client lags so much for so many and the 1.22 client runs perfectly for so many we its not an issue with the 1.23.4 client?

Well, my 1.22 hardly runs perfectly. it USED to run well. But since the beginning of this month i've had lag problems, group IM problems that make the previous issues look like six sigma performance, and voice utterly failing. Heck, one entire weekend, the whole grid was pooched.

So while some of the hits are the viewer, the server code is pretty messed up for us 1.22 users as well.

well I should be thankful I can get performance from the 1.22 when other's are having issues with it as well...

I have been seeing issues with group chats for over 30 days, issue with some IMs not showing up till a relog and other little glitches but at least I can move, dance, chat, rez, etc on the 1.22.
