Windows 7 is functionally the same as Vista. Anything that runs on Vista should run on Windows 7. If worst comes to worse and you can't get it to run, then set it to XP compatibility mode and try again.

Look into your video card drivers. Don't expect Microsoft's drivers to work. Whatever chip manufacturer you're using, get their drivers. Nvidia, ATI, Intel, or otherwise. From what I see, the Microsoft video drivers that come with Win7 are not compatible with SL. (^_^)y

I've been running the Windows 7 release candidate since may and haven't had any problems with SL. (Although the RTM version could be different than the RC but I doubt that's it)

Not by much. I did my move from the RC to RTM a couple weeks ago. It was seamless. =^-^=

I am running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit with the newest SL viewer and having no problems, same with the Emerald viewer.
SL and Emerald are 32bit programms, so Win 7 is starting a 32bit emulation in behind the OS, so everything works fine as long you are running the newest drivers.

Will LL release a 64bit version of SL? For using all the features a 64bit system can offer? I think this would be nice..

Sorry for my english.. greets from germany

For me, Second Life worked beautifully on Windows 7 - both with the official viewer and with Emerald...... for a few days.

Then the graphics went all haywire. But that didn't happen when I was logged in to Second Life. It seems that Windows 7 has lots of bugs and that is more likely to be where your problem lies than with Second Life. Now we have a lame computer with broken graphics and nobody can tell us how it should be fixed - Microsoft just say make sure you've got the latest drivers, which we already have.

Don“t use the win update function for the graphic drivers...
i tried this too, microsoft installed after that an driver wich was over 6 month old..
the the date of your driver in the system momitor and install the card drivers manual..
