Is the RC using the Crash Hunting feature or whatever it's called....and is there a way to opt out of it for awhile then opt back in? Like, could I opt out while doing something I really don't want to crash during? I remember seeing something like that mentioned but it was a long time ago. Update** Was crashing a whole lot (to desktop) on the latest RC and the test viewer posted on VWR-8188 http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8818 . Couldn't stay on for more than a few minutes and sometimes for not more than a few seconds after returning from a crash. Am on the newest Hippoviewer tonight so I can make it through my event at my club. No crashes. I have to put up with the issue in 8188 but I couldn't afford to keep crashing. Will go back on the RC afterwards in hopes that my crashes help to diagnose bugs.

Does anyone know the answer to my question? As I said, I want to use the RC as much as possible to help so they can fix the crashes. But there are times it's not good for me to be crashing every few minutes....which is why I switched to Hippoviewer last night, which I already had installed. There was at one time a command or something that would stop the test crashing temporarily. So yes as of now, I'm doing what you said Briana, not using RC when I can't afford to crash a lot and using it when I'm doing other things that don't matter a lot...so that I can submit the crash reports.

You may be thinking of the watchdog timer. It is not enabled in this round of RCs. Crashes in the current RCs are real, not the forced kind.

Not having the crashing anymore since lowering my bandwidth settings. I've been on 5 hours today without a crash. I love RC 1.23.3 and am so grateful the issue in VWR-8188 got fixed.
