It might be good to set just this forum to not allow the creation of new threads, if folks aren't supposed to create new threads.

SuezanneC- I'd love to do that! but I dont know how or if I have the right controls

The reason for limiting the threads is because I anticipate we'll need a new main thread for each week (each iteration) of the Release Candidate -- and each new iteration usually moots the old one. So I fear that too many new threads limits anyone's ability to follow the status/progress that is being made.

I understand the reason.

There should be someone at LL that knows how to use the forum software. Maybe Katt, Torley, or Jeska would know.

I think the instructions for this forum permissions for a particular usergroup for the current version of vBulletin is at http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/usergroup_managing_forum_

thread controls can usually be found in administration cp > forums > permissions. administrators can over ride these settings by default, so even if no one can make new threads, administrators can always.
