Hello.

Is anybody else having such a hard time with the high-res snapshot option turned on?

I either have only about 1/2 of my window showing in the pic (I keep cutting off peoples heads *ouch*), or it is completely black. I turn off the option and the pic is ok.

Has only happened to me since the new RC release. I have taken hundreds of pics before with my settings.

Thank you.

Rhonda

Edit: Darned, forgot to mention that it only happens with "Snapshot to Disk"

There are some bugs in 1.23 relating to high-res snapshots. For example:

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13630
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13123 (note this issue has been closed due to lack of info; you could re-open it if you can provide a way for folks to duplicate it)

I tried to duplicate what you're talking about every way I could. I used every combination of snapshot setting in both the Advanced Menu and the snapshot pop up . The only problem I could reproduce was only capturing 1/4 of my screen on my hard drive in one of the photos.

HI-RES ~Quiet Snaps to DISK ~Shadows ON ~ currant window .PNG file

I reproduced those settings but the effect would not happen again.

I should mention that I was saving to my HD and not uploading all those pics.

Rhonda...I have exactly the same problem (and went and posted about it under textures)

The Hi-res under the advanced menu is somewhat misleading. Apparently what it does is double your screen resolution. Look under debug settings for Hi-res, same thing as in the menu.

My screen is set to 1600 X 1200. So any snapshot to disk I take is 3200 X 2400. This causes the problem you are having. Just like you, I turned off the Hi-res setting and now my snapshots are fine. I will have to play with it and see where the break point is.
